The UK is not only home of the most important world language, but also a country with a long tradition of golf. Many say that the sport originated in Scotland as early as the 15^th century. By the 16^th century it was played all over the country and the oldest tournament, “The Open Championship” was celebrating its 150^th anniversary in 2010. 

Many of the most important players learnt the sport in Great Britain, among them for example Nicholas “Nick” Faldo, one of the best European golf players who was number one on the world’s ranking list for 98 consecutive weeks. Today, golf is widely played throughout the UK in over 3000 active clubs all over the country. Many of them enjoy Britain’s beautiful scenery and are located in areas of stunning natural beauty.

Several schools in England and Scotland offer English language courses in combination with golf practice. Courses range from first experience taster sessions to courses for professional golf players.
